Online Productivity Software

I love Google Docs. It is a great way to store and share documents.

Two other products to be aware of:
SlideShare - a great way to post a PowerPoint presentation on the web
SlideRocket - a great tool to create presentations

A URL for the web page that you created yesterday

If you want to post your web page to the web google docs will provide a url for you. It isn't perfect, but at least you will have a url that you can share with others (but it looks like they will need to log into their google account to access your site).

Here are the steps:
Click on upload and locate your saved .html file
Rename (if you want)
When the document opens click on "Share" then on "Publish as web page". A url for your page will be available. You can also preview your web page.

Sliderocket

This web 2.0 tool - Sliderocket was just shared on our ACL listerv. It is really a powerpoint type presentation with a little excitement

Here is one way sliderocket was used to market the library I just signed up for the private beta -- not sure if it will be free or for a $, but I think it is pretty slick.

I think that we should create a little presentation to market the library. Anyone want to help with it?

del.icio.us

I have been using del.icio.us for some time now. I finally decided to introduce it to my students and one of their assignments will be to create an account and start adding web sites that they think will be helpful to them as a teacher. They are also going to submit at least one web site to a class delicious account that I have created. We will see how it goes.

In the NU Web 2.0 wiki I asked if you would share your delicious name as there may be web sites that we want to share with each other. It is easy to do. When adding tags to an entry just add the tag "for: " and add the person's delicious name (no quotes needed). We can also join each others network so we can easily see what sites we have added. And as Christa mentioned you can keep entries private -- just click in the "do not share" box.

I like the new design for del.icio.us. I think that navigation is easier.

Welcome to Heather

Heather is now part of our exclusive NU-Web 2.0 group! I really don't mean exclusive -exclusive, only exclusive in that we were the ones to choose to get on the Web 2.0 learning rabbit trail (see Gina's blog).

Welcome Heather!
